About the Kiwi Computer Challenge
Are
you a self-taught computer user?
If
so, you’re not alone – the majority of New Zealanders have taught
themselves to use a computer. We
have enough computer skills to get by, but we spend too much precious
time working out where we went wrong, or doing things the slow way
because we don’t know any better. This problem particularly affects our workforce – the
engine room of our economy. New Zealand’s productivity is
leaking out through the holes in our computer skills.
The
Kiwi Computer Challenge
offers us all a cost-effective, practical way to fix the problem.
From
those who already have some computer skills (or even quite a high skill
level), through to people who have none, this is a way to check what you
already know, learn what you don’t and then prove your skills
by achieving a real qualification.
The
aim of the Challenge is that . . .
One
million New Zealanders will have an internationally recognised
foundation computer qualification
by
2015
No
more “talk-fests” that cost too much and go nowhere – let’s do
something simple and practical to improve productivity in our workforce
(as well as other areas of our lives). Let’s show the world that we
really are a digital nation.
To
be successful, the Kiwi Computer Challenge
needs you and everyone you know to get behind it – together, we can do
it.
We’re
right at the beginning of a very exciting journey – please join us
